HOLLYWOOD SUPERSTARS JOURNEY TO MISSION HILLS HAIKOU FOR MISSION HILLS WORLD CELEBRITY PRO-AM

Adrien Brody, Andy Garcia, Ryan Reynolds, Minka Kelly Highlight Confirmed Participants for Hainan Island Golf Tournament

Shanghai, 11 October 2012 - The 2012 Mission Hills World Celebrity Pro-Am is set to see a host of top Hollywood names exchange the red carpet for green fairways as they gather for the inaugural event at Mission Hills · Haikou on Hainan Island from 19-21 October.

Celebrity participants include Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody, Oscar-nominated actor Andy Garcia, Canadian film and television actor Ryan Reynolds, American actress Minka Kelly and Korea’s top male movie star Jeong Woo-Seong. They will join a host of luminaries from Hong Kong and Mainland China in what is being billed as Asia’s biggest entertainment event of the year.

Talent from closer to home includes renowned film directors Feng Xiaogang, He Ping and Zhao Baogang; Chinese actors Wang Zhiwen, Zhang Jiayi and Sun Nan; plus, movie stars Eric Tsang, Simon Yam, Michael Wong, Michael Miu etc. Hong Kong action star Donnie Yen, the greatest action heroine Michelle Yeoh, Leon Lai, Gigi Leung, Charlie Young, Simon Yam, Twins and Jennifer Tse will attend the event activities too.

Mr. Donnie Yen Ji-Dan is Hong Kong's top action star. He is also the event ambassador of the event. He is widely credited for popularizing the traditional martial arts style known as Wing Chun. He played the role of Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man in the 2008 film “Ip Man,” which was a box office success. Mr. Yen is very much looking forward to attend the event since it is the first time he went to Mission Hills Haikou and there will be a great line up of Chinese and International talents there.

With an outstanding performance in "The Pianist," the 29-year-old Adrien Brody became the youngest Oscar winner in history. The actor recently cooperated with renowned Chinese director Feng Xiaogang on the Chinese epic, "1942".

For his performance as the third-generation Godfather Vincent Mancini, Andy Garcia was nominated for a “Best Actor” Oscar. In 2011, Garcia played the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am tournament. He said: I am honored to play along such a distinguished group. Golf for me is sublime, and I am positive that the experience in Mission Hills will only elevate that feeling"

The Hollywood stars won’t be alone as the event brings together a field comprising celebrities, actors, sporting legends and renowned golfers, while raising valuable funds for charitable beneficiaries like The Yao Ming Foundation and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Other confirmed star participants include 22-time Olympic medal winner Michael Phelps, former NBA Superstar Yao Ming, Brazilian football hero Ronaldo, former world No.1 tennis player Pat Cash and former world No. 1 snooker player Stephen Hendry.

From the world of golf, the field will boast no less than three major tournament winners in Darren Clarke, Ian Woosnam and Tony Jacklin, as well as four-time PGA TOUR winner and current PLAYERS Champion Matt Kuchar.

The pro-am will feature a number of corporate partners from the world of style and fashion including luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet, the ultimate high-performance sports car brand Porsche and internationally renowned golf and leisure footwear brand ECCO , Belgium Beer Stella Artois,. The list of supporting partners are Ballantine's, Lindt, Simmons, Trane, DAC, the 5100 Tibet glacier Mineral Water, Sunny Estate Wines, Paul & Shark, Visual Culture, Valerdictorian and Waterford.
